Hermitage Volleyball Club confirm what everyone was thinking – we’re massive!

The end of the first month of the year also acts as the halfway point of the East Midlands Volleyball leagues, and with this season being a peculiar one it also marks the point all leagues split into new divisions. The top half of each league comes together to form a new 1st division (and fight for the titles) while the bottom half of each league forms a new division 2.

The split makes for good looking through Hermitage tinted glasses, with all 3 regional teams earning their way into the first divisions! The Women’s team and Men’s 1 team will be satisfied with their progress as they both aim for the summit, and the Men’s 2 team should be giving themselves a massive pat on the back – muscling their way into the top division despite being their first year in the regional competition ahead of many clubs 1st teams.

Club chairman & author of this post Tom King said to himself in an interview: “everyone should be feeling pretty good that we’re on track at the halfway point. We’re well on course to be competing for titles (as we should be with both league runners up and the Let’s Get Moving Team of the Year in our ranks from last season). To have the Men’s 2 team also in the top division is a great achievement and demonstrates the work being put in by both the team and the coaches, they are continuing to grow and improve with every passing match and it sets a worrying precedent for the rest of the East Midlands ...in volleyball terms.”

An already massive club continues to march onwards and upwards, great things await!
